Development for Microsoft® SQL Server®

Microsoft® SQL Server® provides our development team with the platform to build complex business solutions to help analyse, understand and drive data throughout your organisation.

Data consolidation

The Microsoft® SQL Server® development environment allows us to provide streamlined database systems that result in cleaner, faster querying. Data consolidation allows your business to operate more effectively with better quality and more relevant information at the heart. Our developers have many years experience understanding the specific requirements of databases and how information is structured - we can help you consolidate your existing data, reduce the chance of human error and improve the efficiency of staff and systems relying on that data.

With new-build projects, our information specialists work with you to determine the best structure for your data. From the very beginning of the development process, optimising performance is paramount - your application and its data storage facility is fine-tuned to help you and your staff analyse, evaluate and manage business critical data as efficiently as possible.

Simply put, an informed approach to data consolidation can improve the speed, efficiency and profitability of your organisation.

Enterprise level data warehousing

A primary feature of Microsoft® SQL Server® is its scalable capacity and ability to cater for vast amounts of data and business growth with the enterprise level data warehousing. Large organisations benefit immediately from a platform that not only copes with their data, but excels; improving resources, increasing productivity and helping you manage data consistently across your enterprise. While small scale businesses can rely on an infrastructure that handles change and develops with them, maintaining streamlined operational costs.

OLAP analysis

OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) is a feature of Microsoft® SQL Server® that can benefit any scale business and allows the comprehensive linking and analysis of information from a variety of sources. The compatibility across data areas can help with producing reports and evaluating a project or organisation's performance. OLAP is often used in sales and marketing to cope with complex querying at high speeds.

Full-text indexing

Full-text indexing offers the facility to comprehensively search and query a database with many adjustable factors determining how the text is retrieved. Resulting in a faster search that intuitively and more directly targets the intended search term, full-text indexing can employ spelling corrections and inflection detection, offering the user logical suggestions in the event of mistyping.

Other elements of text querying includes proximity searching, where results are affected by the proximity in which words appear in the data being searched; weighted searches, where results are ranked and ordered accordingly; word breaking, which refers to how a database determines boundaries and removes unnecessary words like 'and'; and language specificity, denoting the language (i.e. British English or American English) the search criteria is applied to.

T-SQL programming

T-SQL is the programming language used to control Microsoft® SQL Server® and offers applications the sophistication to cope with today's demanding business climate. A database is the backbone of almost every bespoke software project built by Pasilda. Our experience with enterprise level databases and T-SQL allows us to tailor your application's database requirements. We utilise DDL (Data Definition Language) for managing the structure and DML (Data Manipulation Language) for manipulating the data.

Views, stored procedures and triggers are common features relied upon by the applications we build. The everyday CRUD operations (create, retrieve, update, delete - or INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE and DELETE statements respectively) and common features of relational databases, such as relationships and cascading referential integrity, are written with a background of over a decade's experience to ensure your application's data operations are executed with the utmost speed and performance.
